In George Romero’s 1978 seminal flick Dawn of the Dead, Dr. Millard Rausch (Richard France) gives an eloquent monologue about the zombiepocalypse currently plaguing America, and the dilemma of eradicating an enemy who seemingly appears like your friends or family. The speech is one of my favorite parts from the film, not least of all because it opens with a normal question and even makes mention of the normal life zombies lived previously:
“They must be destroyed on sight!”
Brilliant.
